Over the years I've seen lots of advice about aviary floors. Most of it focuses on cleanliness, and most of
it seems to lack basic "user friendliness." Like concrete that you wash, or gravel that you hose down.
Water gets everywhere, and you need a good drain or submersible pump, otherwise the
washing just makes things worse rather than better. Some suggest wood shavings, but this solution just hides
the mess.

Instead of these "clean in place or replace" flooring methods, I've found that loose linoleum pieces work very well.
Pieces are perhaps 4 feet by 6 feet. Generally,
they scrape clean very easily, and when they really need a good scrubbing, you can just roll them up and carry them
outside to meet the garden hose. Remnants are relatively cheap, and in my experience lories don't chew linoleum.
